While I love to travel and see the world, nothing
means more to me than coming home to Austin,
Texas. The city has so many personalities; it's
the capital of Texas, brimming with politics and
hub bub. It's a live music capital with a variety
of talented artists playing every day of the week.
It's the edge of the Hill Country, a gateway to the
heart of the state. It's rich in history, varied in
architecture, and textured by diversity. It's home
to the University of Texas.
Nothing I can think of can parallel the beauty of
Austin in the springtime. Trees are blooming and
the grass is starting to turn green. There is a
carpet of wildflowers along every roadside -
Indian paint brush, poppies, black eyed susans,
and bluebonnets. So while I may sail the Greek
Isles, hike the national parks and Scotland, bike
the coast of Maine, and explore Africa, there is
no place that stirs my soul like home. |
